2008 Recap

Yes, I know I'm a bad blogger.

Yes, I realize it's been going on 2 years now since I've updated my blog at all.

Yes, I even realize that I left off with Mexico back in December 2007. Maybe that's because I secretly (or not so secretly maybe) wish we were still there?

So, wanna know what's been going on for so long?

Read on readers!

2008 recap:

January-
*My boss retired. We miss him so.

*A lot of every day work stuff and meetings...lots and lots of meetings

February-

*went to a birthday party for my newphew Reid (on Richard's side.) Although I didn't get to make the party cause I was working wildfires but I hear they had a great time.

March-

*I went to Boston, MA with Richard. I got to roam this cool city while Richard was off doing work stuff. This is just a small sampling of what I saw. Neat, neat city and I highly recommend you going if you've never been. This was actually the 2nd time I've been and I've seen new things both times.

The first picture is Paul Revere's gravesite. The second is his house (re-done of course) and the third is the CHEERS bar. A city steeped in history for sure.

*We closed on our new house. Here are a few pictures of the land and construction. I just realized I don't have a pictures of the finished house. I'll certainly have to get one. Another thing to stick on the "to do" list.

The first two are obviosuly during the bricking part of it all. The third one is of the pond on our land and the very last one is where our house sits now. We just recently had to cut down one of those huge oaks cause it died during construction. I could at least 100 rings. An old fella!

*I got a little scrapping time in at a scrappin' retreat sponsored by Memoryvilla and I LOVED it! What a view up on Mt. Petite Jean. I strongly suggest you guys check this one out. I certainly want to go back very soon.

*Attended Laynie's birthday party (1 years old now!) I don't have any pictures of her at 1, but here she is at 2 years old. isn't she just a doll?

April-

*Another week long work meeting.

*Went to Kansas to visit Benson's and go to Christel's baby shower for little Mason.

*Jackson is completely potty trained and he gets a cupcake and a trophy for being the "pee and poop" champ. hey...you gotta do what you gotta do and that worked for him (and us.)

May-

*More work stuff and yes, more meetings and fire details.

*had a long overdue yard sale

*Jackson turned 3 with a Razorback themed birthday party

*Took a quick trip to Dallas so Jackson could visit the Wiggles land. You know, those 4 dudes on the Disney channel that sing and act goofy. yes, them.

June-

*Jackson had urology surgery

*Baby Mason Benson was born

*baby Jase Virden was born (the newest nephew on Richard's side)

*Jackson took swim lessons for the first time. Just to get used to it more or less.

July-

*More wildfire work. LOTS of it!

*Spent 4th of July at the Naturals ballgame and watched an excellent fireworks show afterewards.

August-

*I'm pregnant! See?

*Richard and I celebrate 5 years of marriage

*Jackson started 3 year old preschool. Doesn't he look excited? well, that excitement wore off pretty quickly...trust me.

*had my first prenatal appt. 7 weeks 1 day

September-

*football season starts

*had a much needed spa day with my friend, Leah

*another prenatal appt.

*Took jackson to OKlahoma to see the Doodlebops. What? You don't know who they are either? Well, just another singing, dancing show on Disney channel.

October-

*another prenatal appt.

*more work meetings

*Jackson and I go to the pumpkin patch with some friends. Wild things farm in Pocola, Ok. A
pretty neat place

*We start speech therapy with Jackson for a slight stuttering problem

* Leah and I go to NKOTB concert in Dallas. Remember them? Ahhh, the late 80's early 90's.

*halloween and haunted houses/hayrides...Love em! Jackson was the cowardly lion from Wizard of Oz this year. I'm thinking this may be the last year I can get away with cute. But isn't he, though?

November-

*visit the Bensons in NW arkansas and meet Mr. Mason for the first time

*another prenatal appt.

*Begin Christmas shopping

*still football season but we do sneak in a couple Razorback basketball games

December-

*we find out we're having another BOY, then we find out out boy could have potentially leathal kidney problems!

*christmas lights/parades

*leave for Disney world trip. It was fun but tiring. If I would have known I would be pregnant when i BOOKED the trip, we probably wouldn't have gone in Dec. WHEW...tiring.

*came back home just in time for Christmas
